The Salvation Army A new worship hall for The Salvation Army in Chelmsford constructed from cross-laminated timber. The external envelope is zinc clad and the panels are arranged to form a large assembly hall as well as cellular ancillary spaces. The technology is exploited with a wide range of cut-outs including a thirteen metre tall tower element made from a single timber panel. All walls, floors and roof were fully prefabricated and erected in 24 days.
